This quick quinoa is a great addition to your salad bowls, pulao or kichadi. It's so quick that it cooks itself!
We like to have grain bowls or something quick and light on weeknights. This quinoa is a great addition to our salad bowls. It keeps us feeling full and satiated.
5 Minute Instant Pot Quinoa
Yields 2-3 Servings
Ingredients
1 Cup Quinoa
1.5 Cups Water
1 Tsp. Oil
Salt to Taste
Directions
Wash quinoa thoroughly. Use your hands to make sure you get the residue off the quinoa seeds. I like to use a sieve and run cool water several times. Additionally, you can let it soak for a few minutes and then rinse.
Place quinoa in the Instant Pot. Add the water, salt and oil.
Close the Instant Pot lid and set the valve to Sealing.
Adjust your Pressure cook to 1 minute.
After the minute is over, let the quinoa sit in the steam for an additional 4 minutes. Move the valve to Venting and let the pressure drop. Once the pin drops open the lid. Additionally, you can let the pressure drop naturally and wait for the pin to drop.
Fluff the quinoa with a fork.
Garnish with your favorite herbs, spices, veggies. (When we do Mexican night, I like to add cilantro and fresh squeeze of lime.) Enjoy!
